Don't worry about it. He'll eventually grow out of it. Perhaps he picked it up from a Tv show or something.

You live in North America and have no british accent, but your son does?

Young children are so influenced on how they speak...It could be from TV, it could be from somebody else you know...

When I was 14 my mother had a baby boy...even though we had no british accent, we taught him to ask for "Wotah"...that is 'water' with a british accent.
Even though we didn't use the word, he would ask for it in a british accent...

Does he know anyone with an accent?...and even if he doesn't...kids are completely influential in so many ways!
I wouldn't worry...they always find an appropriate way to deal with things.

I've heard of people falling asleep and waking up with a different accent. It's been featured on different new shows. It's something to do with some connection in their brain, but I'm sure it had to do with some trauma, like a head injury or something else.
It's very interesting and might be worth your while to investigate it further. Do a little more research on the net.

Dude, all the ladies love a guy with a british accent. Just rest assured knowing that he is going to be the sexiest man alive when he grows up.

Sure. Usually that accent will start to fade away as he lives in America and as he gets older. No Worries Mate!

Sometimes kids' speech systems are not yet fully developed and they may mispronouce some words. It is often mistaken for a British accent. It will go away soon.

Is he in school? Does he have a friend or teacher that has the accent? What does he watch on TV? Maybe there's a character he's copying.

maybe its because of TV or its related to friends..
things that influence him...
you are talking about your youngest son.. and although i dont know his age.. he might between 8 to 15 or so..
he might like Harry Potter a lot..

and if he watches it a lot he might get the accent..
i dunno..
its a point of view...
might not be at all..

I'm not sure that's usual, but unusual is cool! It'll make him unique! I'd die for a british accent. I consider him lucky.

Kids speak the way the people they speak to the most speak. This is often parents, but can be teachers, classmates, etc.
