Depends on how old you are, what your living expenses are and the like. Regardless though you are pretty lucky to get that, but I'm sure there are other people who get more..and less.

VERY VERY spoiled. When I turned 16 my $10 a week allowance stopped, and I was told to get a job. Imagine working for $6 an hour and see how many hours it would take to make $1500 a month. Heck my little sister makes $11.50 an hour and after taxes she barely brings home $1500 a month. SO if you truly get that kind of money from your parents you should count your blessing in life and tell them you appreciate it instead of bragging to others. Then again I wonder if you could ever make it in the real world on your own?

I don't know if you're spoiled but that is way too much money for a 16year old. If you're living with your parents then, I assume, everything is provided in the way of food and lodging. So what is the money for. Clothes, maybe a car and the running costs of the car. Even if this is the case it's still too much money. Why don't you save most of it and invest it for yourself. Then when you get to 20years old you will have a nice little lump sum to do something with. Or help out people less fortunate than you!!

I never got a $1500/month allowance. You are VERY spoiled. Most 16 year olds deserve to be paid about minimum wage because you are starting out in the workforce. Therefore, because it's an allowance and no taxes are taken out, you should get paid about 10-15% LESS than minimum wage to compensate. Multiply the hours you work for your allowance by the minimum wage in your state times 0.85 to get a FAIR allowance number.

the question needs some time to be answered. The answer depends on where u end up after school and how much money you manage to bag in. If you are gonna inherit a multi-billion dollar business then your allowance is small. Else if you are gonna work hard for the same 1500 at a later time.. then you are spoilt with a generous allowance... U agree with me???

That's a heck of a lot for being sixteen. $1500 a month/ 30 days =$50 a day. If you had rent or something its still generous but for being 16 its a bit excessive.

You don't even know how lucky you are. You do not have to work for living. I work very hard and make a half of what you get as an allowance. You do not have responsibility of having to pay the bills and buy the food. I have to do it. Appreciate what you have if you can.

Dude give me your credit card so I can give my kids a raise on their allowance. A lot of people don't make that a month in wages.

you are a spoiled little brat. get a job, move out and start supporting yourself. after 6 months move back in and see what you think about getting 1500 a month and not having to pay bills.

Your parents give you that much per month? You all must be well of...most of us only ever got a very small fraction of that amount...

I wouldn't complain...nor would I share the info too often since most of us as kids were/are not so lucky.
