Why was the K-M Maximum 7D discontinued?

Question

I have several lenses from my 33mm that will fit. I find used 7D out there but why was it discontinued? Isn't the Dynax 7D the same camera but the British version?

It was discontinued because Konica-Minolta is out of business.
Sony has bought the KM digital camera line, and has just come out with a new DSLR based on it, but their first attempt isn't collecting too many rave reviews.
