that is so awesome! my bf and I have our six month anniversary, too on december 16th! how cool is that!? and I just thought of the same thing as you did! we didn't see each other since the end of july, bc I work here in NJ and he lives in Germany (so do I usually) but he comes over for Christmas on the 15th decemebr. I thought about taking him into the city on the 16th and asking him if he wants to marry me. it's always nice to have a special event/holiday were you give a promise ring but if I would be you I woulnd't wait until christmas. so you guys have your own little holiday before the big holiday... I wish you luck and a happy merry christmas!

I think that a promise ring for Christmas, is the best present a girl can get. I got my promise ring on my birthday which was 2 weeks after our six month anniversary. My parents and other family and friends were there and everyone was so happy. We are now married, just like he promised be on my birthday almost 4 years ago. Good luck to you,

Does she suspect she is getting it? If so, I would do it in between the two! That way she may re-think that she may not be getting it once the 16th comes and goes, so she may be thinking for Christmas...but you can pull it off before hand, and she won't be suspecting it! It just depends on how much of a surprise you want it to be. If she knows....go for the anniversary. My opinion!

You have know this woman only 6 months and you are ready to give her a promise ring?Does that mean that you are pre engaged ?Wait until Christmas. If you are still in high school then you need to wait until after college and you are settled in your career and she is as well.

I would actually want it done for christmas. because a person is all wrapped up in the christmas spirit and may be more receptive to the whole future family thing of which you are promising. Say something really romantic and make it a special moment.

h-ll i waited 5 yrs I and never got it.. wouldnt rush into it. a ring ?people are getting to materialistic -a ring only means something to the wallet. I have seen more people cheat with rings on.. people don't care to even intervene if your wearing one. your vow now to her as it is all to new.. is.. I cherish you for the time we have now and hope it will grow and for xmas give her a neckchain then.. after a reasonable amt of time give her your class ring.not in 6 months its all to new and iffy yet
