Very intersting answers. *Writes them all down on a sheet a paper* Finally, I have a checklist. jk

But I do wonder about those who believe the antichrist to be anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus because that would be around 66%-75% of the world's population

I will put in Bible scripture to tell what he is like but why would you want to know if you dont belive and don't want to belive?

The best source for information about Antichrist is the Book of the Revelation. The "revelations" of the book are events that will take place both on earth and in heaven during the last seven years of human history. Among these "revelations" are key attributes of the coming world ruler, commonly called Antichrist. He will be a master statesman. He will do what no negotiator in history has been able to do. He will get the nations of the world to forego nationalism for the "good of the whole." Then, if that is not enough, he will bring the religions of the world together under one head. Those people left on earth during this time, (remember that the church will have been taken up to heaven by this time) will sing his praises as a statesman and philosopher because no one to date has been able to accomplish this in over two thousand years. Yet he will pull all this off in just a few short years. But all is not wine and roses! In order to help administer the massive government that a world dominion will require, he will appoint a group of leaders. Most likely they will be given responsibility over a particular region. At some point one or more of these leaders will become dissaffected with their "king." They will rebel starting a World War. Then, Antichrist will be assassinated. That is when Satan, who has always tried to imitate God, will personally indwell/possess Antichrist, in prelude to the final battles on the Day of the Lord. Many people have relegated the Book of the Revelation to insignificance by attributing all sorts of symbolism to its prophecies. They say, "No one can know what all the symbols mean." Bible Scholars use a simple rule to interpret scripture. "When the plain sense of scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense." In other words, let the words say what they say, and if they make sense, you are on the right track.

The future Antichrist will be a world-wide power, essentially pagan, which will persecute the Catholic Church (and orthodox Christians in general) everywhere, as the Babylonians persecuted the Jews and 1st century Rome the Church. These are biblical types!

The Babylon of John's day, Rome, stands for the kingdom of the future Antichrist and is no more likely to be situated in Italy than Rome needed to be situated in Babylonia (modern Iraq). John was informing his readers of these prophetic types by drawing their attention to the contemporary fulfillment they found in pagan Rome.

The Antichrist will come out of the Christian world (Greco-Roman civilization) to be sure (1 John 2:19), but America is as much an inheritor of that civilization as Europe and just as likely to be the source of the Antichrist.

Finally, after distorting the text and history to read what they want into the Bible, and thereby obtaining God's "blessing" on their hatred of the Catholic Church, some "Christians" ignore the only texts of Scripture which tells us about the religious leanings of the Antichrist. The Catholic faith being a religion you would think they would see what it teaches on the only criteria the Bible actually gives about the Antichrist.

In St. John's letters (1 John 4, 2 John 1), he tells us that the spirit of the Antichrist denies the Incarnation (the Son of God becoming man) and thereby also the Trinity (the Father and the Spirit, too). This is the spirit of the Antichrist. There is not a single text in 2000 years, including the new Catechism of the Catholic Church, where the Catholic Church, her popes, her bishops, her official teachings, her saints, or her acknowledged ecclesiastical authors, deny the Word-made-flesh or the Blessed Trinity. Instead, all of Christianity owes the preservation of these Truths to the Catholic Church, whose great Councils formulated them and whose saints and popes have defended them to this day, often at the cost of martyrdom.

John Paul II, has written three great encyclical (circular) letters on the Trinity, one for each Divine Person, and he has without a doubt preached Jesus Christ to more people than any other person in human history. The Catholic Church does not have the spirit of the Antichrist but of God, since no one without the Spirit can say "Jesus is Lord" (1 Cor. 12:3), something the Church and Catholics always have done and continue to do!

Here's three scriptures that mention the antichrist: 1 John 2: 18, 22; 1 John 4: 3; 2 John 7. They all indicate that the antichrist is NOT an individual, but anyone who denies Jesus is the Messiah. The verses also show that such individuals have always been around.

Don't let what others say determine how you think. You are right to keep an open mind.

Second Thessalonians Ch.2 speaks of him, it says,"Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. verse 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What most people don't understand is that if they keep putting off getting saved, When the Antichrist does come on stage, it will be to late to get saved.

I know many who say," when I see the Antichrist and they try to make me get the mark of the beast, then I will get saved.

It will be to late, Why? Because of what it says in the above verse. They received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. God is going to send a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie

What lie are they going to believe? I think it will be that the Antichrist will say he is God, and they will believe him, and get the mark of the Beast.

Read your Bible, get the facts first hand, and make up your own mind. God is very read, and only by Jesus Christ can you be saved. John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

Thanks for the great question. I searched antichrist in the Bible and found that antichrist is mentioned in three locations in the Bible.

1John.2
[18] Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
[22] Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1John.4
[3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2John.1
[7] For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

From these verses it is clear that there are many antichrists. It also implies that who ever says that Jesus Christ is not come in the flesh is an antichrist and has to spirit of antichrist. If you look deeper into the verses surrounding these passages it says to try the spirits of the deceivers to determine whether they be of Christ. They also say that the antichrist had already come when this was written 1800 years ago. So how much longer do we have to wait for him to fully come?????

Many people take these words as face value and say that they mean this.....only those who preach that Jesus came 2000 years ago in the flesh are of Christ and not antichrist. Anyone who says that Jesus never lived 2000 years ago and died for our sins is antichrist and is a false prophet. Well, that would make it very simple to decipher who is the antichrist....anyone who is not a Christian.

Well, I say that this interpretation is too simple and needs further analysis. I then look closer at the tense of the verb "is come" in the flesh (referring to Jesus Christ "is come" in the flesh). To me this verb is present tense and should be considered present tense. It does NOT say..."every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ CAME in the flesh". If it did, I would then say, yes this is definitely talking about some past time in history. But it is clearly present tense here.

So I would say that the antichrist will deny that Christ comes in the flesh or to say.....in their flesh has he come, and now lives. I will now add scriptures that suggest this.

Gal.4
[19] My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
2Thes.1
[12] That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him,
Col.1
[27] ......glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Rom.12
[5] So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
1Cor.12
[12] For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
[27] Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

I have already taken too much space, so this is all I will say about what the Bible says about the antichrist. The role of the antichrist has veered from what the Bible says of him and has turned into some guy who will lead the world astray. I see it more as a spirit of false truth that leads the world away from knowing we are all members of Christ and we need to let him come in the flesh (our flesh) rather than worshipping some man who might have lived 2000 years ago.

If you look closely at USAEAGLES answer you can see that the "historical Jesus" fullfilled many of these prophesis for the antichrist. How funny is that? That is how clever the antichrist is, it causes people to worship a MAN rather than God who is SPIRIT. His message will be close to the truth, but so very far away. Definitley a wolf in sheep clothing.

2Cor.5
[16] Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Rom.1
[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man,

Is Jesus Christ a physical man? Is the "historical Jesus" GOD? Be careful.

The Antichrist was Nero Caesar (his name in Hebrew numerology = 666). Revelations was an attempt to give spiritual support to Christians being persecuted by the Roman Empire, it was not a prophecy about the future (though many Christians will disagree with that).

he has a way of fooling people into believing there is no God and that we some how got here through monkeys or fish. He is very slick, be sure. Don't trust him!

He comes like a lion but dressed like a lamb. In other words, he looks nice but wants to rip you to pieces and enjoys doing it one small piece at a time.

And yes, he will fool the world. If you don't believe that, just look at the last election. And now people are excited about Mrs. Clinton, YIKES HE IS SHARP!

He looks just like you. "He is the antichrist who denies the Father and the Son." 1 John 2:22.

The Antichrist with a capital A is not in the Bible. But there is one in Revelation that people call the Antichrist.

He will be well spoken, probably speak all the major languages. He will be a peace maker, probably solve the mid east crisis.
He will be an economic genius.
At some point there will be an assasination attempt, and he will recieve a deadly head wound (probably gunshot), of which he will miraculously recover.
He will work miracles just like Christ.
Finally he will declare himself to be God and demand to be worshipped world wide.
The whole world will be decieved except for the elect (Jews)
