New Age, fundamentalist, theist all these labels etc.......Does anybody really care? Does everybody feel more comfortable with a label? I am this -I am that. Regardless, if we saw each other on the street would we run each other over with a car or what? Oh never mind their are many here who would actually like to run me over with a car.

I appreciate people being up front and stating just exactly what they are, so I don't have to guess what I am up against. I am a fundamental Christian. Don't you think that is better than me trying to hide that from you?

Labels make it easier to hate and kill other people. That way, they don't count as real people. They're just "collateral damage." We can still have a clean conscience because we didn't kill somebody with our label.
If you choose not to have a label, then you have to be a pretty fast runner because everybody will be chasing you trying to get their label on you. If you don't have their particular label, you will go to hell, just like everybody else who doesn't have their particular label.
Does it make more sense now?

I think labels help people to feel like they've "found themselves." But unless they get beyond that label, they probably haven't really truly found themselves. But some people do share an awful lot in common with a particular label, and so why not call themselves that?

I don't wanna run you over!

I think labels CAN be bad, if we don't use them along with our intellect. Some labels help us know how to deal with people - what to say and not to say. Some labels are good:
policeman
mom
under 16!
cancer survivor
victim of depression
conspiricy theorist

The problems with labels that I see is that at times they can be a little to general to the purpose of any individual outlook.

Labels are just a part of life and there is NO way to stop them. The only thing you can really do is just stick it out and look both ways before crossing the free-way.lol. L8ER:)

People want to name what they are because they want to look important rather than actually trying to learn ho to live for the community...it is a reflction of PC and multiculturalism...if people don't like the mainstream...they can make up their own rules to justify their desires rather than modifying their self to become better...sick and sad...and makes you worry about people serving the kool-aide

Well since we are discussing religion here, you kind of have to label where you stand. Otherwise what is there to talk about?

Humans like to organize things into hierarchies. It's just part of how our mind works. That's all.
