2qt le creuset broken?

Today I was making a soup in it and it just broke! I didn't pour any cold water in it and the temperature was at medium heat. How did this happen?

While I don't know, Le Creuset is awesome about replacing their cookware, no questions asked except for what color you want it in. I called them about my mother's piece of LC, and they said no problem, what color did I want it in!

The only catch is that you have to pay the shipping to return it.
