There's no such thing as a "sin". That term was originated to make people feel guilty enough to cough up cash for the priest.

In the Catholic faith you dont have to, but you should,. Remeber, in this world you dont have to anyhting, thats why God gives us free choice, because we can choose to do whats right or not. Confessing to your preist is a good idea because he will give you repentance. Also the bible does mention about confession to preists. In the christian faith you dont. A while ago, the priests of the catholic faith made a mistake, nad people protested, and thats where you get protestants adn babtist and so on. now that catholics have strightened up, you really should suggest on it. Remeber that there are many interpretations of the bible, nad people interpret it differntly. Read parts of the bible, or ask your pastor or priest for the vese in the bible talking about repentance and reconciliation of your sins. There you will find that you should confess your sins to your priest, but remember, when you read it for yourself, see what it means to you. Read it over and maybe begin a healthy discussion with your church or family members. Good luck and I hope my advice has benifited you for the greater good.

No because Jesus is the only one who can forgive you not a priest or pastor.. You can go to them for counseling, but not to confess your sins if you think they can give you forgiveness like Jesus can..

First, confess your sins to God. Your one and only advocate to The Father is Jesus. It is certainly not wrong to also confess to your priest or pastor as well, however.

"confess your faults one to another that you may be healed"

We confess our sins to a priest who acts in the role of Jesus and absolves us from our guilt. This is one of our Sacraments (an outward sign of grace) Jesus said that his Apostles could forgive sin and this is passed down to his clergy.

No, it's not mandatory. But it helps because scripture does say for us to confess our sins one to another.

No you really do not need to because God can forgive you if you are truly repentant. Sometimes it just helps to confess our sins one to another but it is not necessary!

trick question, and loaded at that.

Yes and no. To be forgiven of sins, you need to confess to God, through Jesus Christ (assuming you have trusted Him for salvation)

But sometimes to get help in overcoming sin, yes we need to go and tell our Pastor for the purpose of getting prayer and wise counsel.
