I have heard that he should stay home for 3 days but I have also heard that it takes at least 24 hours for the antibiotics to work. He has been fever free since last night.

I would hate for him to go to school and have other kiddos get it.

Having had strep 3 yrs straight as a youth, it's probably best he stay home for 3 days. This will allow time for the antibotics to take effect, and give his body a chance to restore its strength.

Strep can zap ya preety good b/c swallowing, breathing - almost anything oral is draining as well as painful.

My prayers are with you...I'm sure he'll be okay. It's mom/dad that catch it b/c they do all the worrying and running around.

My pediatrician says until the fever breaks and the child has been on antibiotics for 24 hours. They are not supposed to be contagious after 24 hours. When I was growing up I had strep more times than I can count. Depending on how bad it is, your child may not feel up to school for a while it takes a lot out of them and when they are laying around and not playing it is a good sign they are not ready. When they start acting themselves again they are ready. A mother knows.

I hope he is well soon.

poor element. regrettably it incredibly is complicated to assert because of the fact all and sundry is distinctive. the good element is youthful little ones each so often bounce back speedier than adults. I had mono whilst i replaced into 22 and that i ignored 7 weeks of faculty. i replaced into so so so ill and had to be hospitalized. My roommate have been given it on an analogous time and purely ignored one week. See what I advise? in simple terms ascertain she rests and gets lots of fluids and in simple terms shop an eye fixed on her. i might tell her college she would be out indefinitely. you will see whilst she starts off to sense greater effective. in simple terms ascertain she takes it common whilst she does return to college. Mono takes 18 months to totally leave your gadget. i'm hoping she recovers with out postpone.

No fever, then no chance of spreading it. Once his fever receded he could have went back to school without fear of speading it
