I just installed LimeWire. I am trying to get songs so i can put them on my ipod. YES I have i Tunes, but any way when I search something it keeps saying LimeWire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network. PLEASE EXPLAIN STEP-BY-STEP

first step you make sure you are connected to the internet.
2nd step make sure limewire is connected to the internet. you can do it by going to the file and clicking connect.
then you type in the singer or song name you are looking for and click search. (its on the left side of the screen)
limewire will then search it for you and give you a list of possible songs.
then you choose the one you want and click download which is siuated below.
limewire will download the song for you.
then after downloading you cut and paste from the shared folder to the i tune folder.
hope that helps. check your internet connection before starting. good luck...

Sounds like you have dial-up, or Limewire is just awfully busy. Limewire is composed of thousands of users put together, so if they're on the internet, that'll do it.
BTW, If you're in a school, get it off your computer fast, or you'll be in a heap of mess.

P.S. The government is trying to track Limewire users, so just watch your back.

If there is a brickwall in front of the earth then configure your firewall to let limewire connect to the internet.

Click on help at the top of the screen on limewire.
Is all the bars at the bottom green or red? If they are red then you are not having a strong connection to the internet. If this is the case then on file click connect. If it is green bars then it is ready to go. Go to search and type in a song and when it comes up click on it and then click download.

If it is red bars though give it time to connect to the net.

It depends if you have dial up or high speed. If you have dial up then you have to click on the internet explorer button FOR AS LONG AS YOUR DOWNLOADING OR LOOKING UP SONGS!!!
The internet has to be up at all times when you use limewire. ok
And if you have high speed then it should just work when you click on the lime wire button if not try the dial up way.
