Chromosome 12 is a medium-sized chromosome. If it is broken, that may mean a few things. If it is entirely missing, there is a chance the fetus won't survive. But if the boy is born alive, he may have clefts in his lip and palate and some heart deficiencies. Missing a large chunk of DNA is going to mess him up pretty badly. Defects depend on how much is "broken." It can translate into problems with cell multiplication.
