Whenever it starts to look stringy or disheveled...I think my daughter was at least 3 before her first...she was bald forever!

Well technically my son was 9 months old...he was soo bald... so we shaved it to stimulate hair growth....his 1st hair cut out at a hair salon or whatever...was at like 14 months old....He is 5 yrs old now...and seems like he needs a hair cut like every 3 months or so... If my baby that is due in 28 more days has the same hair problem my sn did...she will be shaved lol...which, this time it'll work even better since I am having a girl...

When it looks like it needs it...or when the child is of age and is asking for a specific style...there's no real age but I think a trim to keep it looking nice once in a while should be done.

They say a child should ask for his first hair cut and that the hair of a virgin girl should not be cut at all

once it gets long enough for you to wanna cut it. my son had a crap load of hair and had his first trim at about four months, his first real haircut at about eight or nine months. just make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing. i about had an emotional breakdown when the woman practically SHAVED my sons head, instead of giving him the trim i asked for. then someone swept away all the cut hair, so i couldn't even keep the first curls in those useless baby books you tend to forget about one or two years later...

It is totally up to mom and dad. Maya still hasn't had a real haircut at 24 months. I want her hair long and I don't mind pulling it back.i trimmed it a couple of times when she was younger, to keep it out of her face, but now her bangs are almost to her shoulders so I just braid her hair. There is no 'should' on this one, it is up to you.

There's no specific age... just whenever you feel like getting it trimmed up a bit. My son got his when he was about 14 months old. Since then it's been about every 2 months, I take him in to have it trimmed up and evened out :)

My oldest son was 3 months when he got his first haircut. Everyone was telling me what a cute little "girl" he was. He was born with hair past his ears and down the back of his neck.

My youngest was 11 months and I only cut it because it got tangled in his glasses. It made me really sad because he had the cutest little curls.
