is clepto an actuall disease where the person puts no conscious thought into the action? does the person have no idea that there commiting the act? or is this another one of those diseases where its jus one that ppl gain attention off of sayin that they have it because theres no way to tell if u have it for sure?

Kleptomania is a recognized psychological/psychiatric disorder. You can reference it in the DSM-IV, the recognized diagnostic standard of phychological abnormalities. Kleptomania is considered to be an impulse-control disorder; its diagnostic code within the DSM-IV is 312.32. You can probably find a copy in most libraries of any size at all.

cleptomania is not a disease.... it is a psychological disorder.... people who have this disorder tend to "not know" of their action..... this was brought about by a psychological imbalance on the mind of the person.......you can have symptoms of these..... but i think the right person who can judge if you have this disorder or not is the trained psychologist or a psychotherapist...

yeah its a psychological illness, though it can be cured.
