it all depends if you want to have more definition (look lik their big) you'll want to have lighter wieght lesss reps if you actually want the strength it will take longer but if you increase to your maximum wieght everytime you'll gain more strength

First eat your diet in multiple insrallment, and reduce about 10% intake. Drink more liquid - water, juice, soups etc.
In workout use weights. sweat your way out. Do deep breathing exe3rcise for 15-20 minutes, in a period of 2-3 months things will be your way

more reps(8-12 or more) with less weight is generally regarded as the program necessary for trimming down/ toning. Heavier weight with fewer reps is used for bulking up. For a toning program you should maintain muscle burn, but not failure.

I would think if you wanted to be lean, you would want to use lighter weights but do more reps.

Weights have nothing to do with how lean you are. Your body fat % determines that. Like another poster said, do cardio.
