He will ride the war issue for as long as he is in office. Bush, like so many of his Republican predecessors, were shoddy leaders on the domestic front, so issues of international import, where military muscle can be exercised, have always been their linchpin issue. Granted his performance in the area of international relations, especially with regards to the war effort, is deplorable, but since he is absolute bereft of ideas on the domestic front, he can do nothing else. By constantly making excuses and prolonging the war by encouraging further “investigation” we makes his cronies that much more richer because they will invariably profit more as the duration of the war is increased.
