My wife and I both think it was not wrong for you to laugh; she said she thinks she would laugh if it happened to her. The way your gf responded is what makes it so funny to me. I started laughing the second I read "hot foot, hot foot, hot foot." Heck, the only reason I clicked on the question was to figure out what the heck a hot foot was LOL. I do agree with the answerer who said that the action of dropping a hot curling iron on your foot is not funny. This was about a lot more than dropping a hot curling iron a foot- this had a hilarious response thrown in. The answerer who stated that she could have been seriously injured or caught something on fire is not considering the situation I think- obviously this wasn't the case in your situation. My wife and I disagreed a bit on if it would be okay even if you hadn't asked to see if your gf was alright. I thought it would be okay even if you didn't ask simply because it seemed obvious that she WAS okay. If she was unable to talk, was screaming in pain, was crying, was losing bodily fluids, or anything similar... then there would be a question as to whether or not she was "okay." If she was sitting on the floor, sucking her toe, saying "hot foot," COME ON, she's okay! Let me know how your bet turns out.

I think he means because they are the wives of wrong doers, when the wives themselves are innocent.

I am not a Muslim, but when I read that verse, I felt it was saying that the wives would be judged only if they too were wrong-doers, like their husbands. Because it says "the things THEY worshipped..." I'm thinking it means that both the husband and wife worshiped others besides Allah.

Hmmm furious? When people worshipped their idols and did/said atrocious things to the Prophet then they deserve to go to hell. It's so simple.... worship One God. That's all Muhammad was telling people, but they didn't want to give up their lives of idolatry, adultry, drinking and partying, etc. They were terrible to the Messenger. Allah says they are the ones who are doomed. Fine with me.
