I understand that you need to first get a marriage license which takes 3 days to process and a $28 fee. When I got to pick it up, will the judge or justice of the peace marry us right then and there? We don't plan on having a religious ceremony for a while. Should we dress up? Help! Thanks in advance!

Make an appointment with the mayor for they day that you want to get married. Then make sure you go to the license office 3 days before to get your marriage license.

any judge can marry you, just make an appointment....
How you dress and who you invite is up to you
