Long story short, I dated a guy for a while, he and I went our separate ways, and now we're actually together again and better than ever before in almost every way. He is wonderful in every possible way. However, I need to learn to keep the past in the past and fully trust him. When we went our separate ways, he dated someone else immediately after (his friend was trying to set them up before we were even apart--but our relationship at the time wasn't good and it was really for the best) but... it still hurt me. He wanted to keep in touch with me while they were together, though our friendship was strained. They broke up after 9 mo & 6 weeks later we started dating again. Like I said, he has been wonderful!!! Seriously hasn't done anything wrong this time. I've said nothing to him about my concerns because I want to work on this on my own because I know it's me who needs to let go of those negative feelings. How do I do it? I'm looking for "big picture" answers...not step-by-step.

You want the big picture? The same scenario happen to me in high school. You break up, get back together and break up to again get back together. Come to find years later he married the women he broke up with me in high school...how's that for a big picture :)

It's life. You'll move on and find another. Someone who won't put you through the drama and love you for you.

The very first thing is to realize that you have to trust God, not a person. All people sin and make wrong decisions. You also have to communicate (with God, He talks back; And with your guy). If you never express concern, he will never know what to be sensitive about. If he has a desire to love you and make the relationship work, then it may take time, but give it to him.
