face cleansers normally do that.
you get zits once you start using it, because that means it's working and getting the oil out. just endure it...it'll be gone eventually.

You should probably stop using it. 3 weeks is a pretty good trial period for anything... I agree with the "chemical warfare" answer, the less products you use on your face, the better. My regimen was recommended by my dermatologist, and it's SO easy, I don't know why more people don't do it! Everyone's skin is different, but my derm. said he always starts with this method: Just gently massage in Cetaphil cleanser (avail. @ any drugstore) morning and night, and use a tissue or washcloth to wipe off. Easy-peasy, no water involved! Then you can use whatever moisturizer or acne medication you want, but Cetaphil is so gentle that it won't irritate even the most sensitive skin. Everyone I know that has tried this LOVES it...
Here's my derm's explanation: Water actually dries your skin out (like when you shower all the time your skin gets itchy) and if your face gets dried out, even temporarily, your skin produces more oil. The oil gets trapped, causing zits. And the cycle continues. So moisture balance is key to dealing w/acne. I dunno, it works for me.

We use this at our salon and highly recommend it. It is natural and from the sea. Works extremely well. Phytomer will break you out at first becuase it draws out the underlying acne that is hiding beneath the skin.. once it's cleared though your skin will be moist and even. I love this stuff and a lot of the women at work swear by it. A lot of products off of store shelves will push any blemishes back into the skin and stay stagnant, which isn't good because whenever you change over.. the new product will bring it out. So Phytomer will get it out and keep it out. Drug Store and Mail order products don't have as much research and credible product ingredients. Buy pro or it's a no.
Great product!

The saying that it will break you out or make it worse before it gets better is a myth. If it is breaking you out there is a reason for it breaking you out. Are you using any other products made by any other company on your face? If so you are cause what is called chemical warfare on your face and that will cause you to break out more. If you are stressed about anything you can break out more. There are many factors that could be involved here. But if it has only made things worse continuously stop using it and go to something else. Is it made for your type of skin. (normal to dry or combination to oily) If you are using the wrong stuff on your skin that will cause you to break out. I am a consultant for Mary Kay and we are trained in skin care as skin care is our biggest product line. If you want to check some of our products out visit my website.

The same happened to me from this product. You know the saying that somethings things get worse, before they better? Same here... I kept using it, but cut it down to 3x per week, and this really helped. It still worked, but I didn't have as much dryness and my skin didn't break out as much. Now it doesn't break out very much at all, maybe once per month (around that time) I may see something.

I used to wash my face with some crap like that. I found that using just cold water and soap works the best! The secret is the cold water, I think...
