Most of the schools for commercial divers expect that you are already a trained and certified welder. Few schools offer both, but here are a few that do:

AVTEC in Alaska also offers all of both certifications, but the water is *cold* here. You should be able to find access to any of this training by looking for a job listing for underwater welding, or through the union, and ask where people being hired by the company you would prefer to work for have been trained and certified.

Some companies will train you to dive if you already weld. If you do not now dive or weld, you might want to try them out first, as diving is not for everyone, and niether is welding.
