Depending on the size of your dog. Typically milk chocolate isnt that bad in small amounts. Baking chocolate is more serious. It can affect the kidneys. Just keep an eye out for vomiting, diarhea, and lethargy.

How long ago was it since she ate the chocolate? Take time and check on her every so often. I'm not too sure what the symptoms are but check online for chocolate poisoning for dogs. Or call her vet and ask what the symptoms are so you know the right information. If you see that she is acting lethargic, if she throws up, or if she is not herself then take her in as an emergency. Since she is small you will be able to tell quickly her symptoms. Good luck and I hope this is nothing but a little scare.

My female mini schnauzer (about 9 lbs) ate half of a heart shaped box of valentine chocolates a few years ago. She ate only the milk chocolate ones and left all the dark chocolate...She always did have good taste!! But back to the subject she threw up for most of the day and then settled down and was okay. If she wouldn't have stopped vomiting I would have taken her in to the vet as schnauzers are prone to pancreatitis and she could have died.
Most likely one small piece of chocolate won't hurt your dog. Just keep and eye on her. If she starts vomiting or has diarrhea then I would get concerned...

It depends on how big a piece of chocolate -- for a small dog , a little bit may be too much. You might want to call the vet just to be sure.

There are two big questions to answer this. How big is the dog and how big was the piece of chocolate. If it was a big dog and ti ate a big piece of chocolate, call the vet. But if it was a big dog and it ate a small piece of chocolate, you may not need to. But with small dogs, its way different. Call the vet immediately. Chocolate can give a dog cancer and other harmful diseases.

I have a Yorkshire Terrier and she's ate a whole bag of chocolate chip cookies before(on accident) and she was fine. Just watch your dog and if he/she starts vomiting or it's breathing changes dramatically then call the vet immediately.

YOu do not need to call the vet. If your dog starts throwing up, that is good, cuz then it can get the chocolate out of it.

If it is a large dog, it will probably be okay. But if it is a small dog (less than 10 lbs) I would call the vet.

I have two small Yorkshire Terriers that are barely 5 pounds. They have been eating chocolate their whole lives. I don't give them a lot but they sure do love it as treats. For all we know the dumb idiot who said Dairy Products and Chocolate is bad for dogs was probably an obese selfish rat who wanted all the food to himself.

P.S. If he/she starts to vomit or have diarrhea bring him/her to the vet. I guess allergic reactions can occur with dogs as it occurs with us humans

:)

if it wasnt that much, HE WILL BE FINE. MAYBE just an upset stomach, but im sure that wont even happen. but if your dog does get worse, like throwing up, or diarrhea, then yeah i would take him to the vet. but im sure his FINE! God Bless!!
