My wife and I argue about this all the time. She says the wedding band is on the bottom because it is closer to the heart. I say it goes on second, because thats the order you get them, and it 'seals' the love. What are your thoughts?

I always wear mine in front because of the order in which i got them, and plus i think it looks better that way. my mother-in-law told me about wearing it close to her heart so i don't know which way is technically right. but wearing them in order makes more sense than that close to the heart crap so i'm with you!

Although I think you are correct in the proper way it is supposed to be worn, I have to agree with your wife. I always wear my engagement ring on top. I do this because like your wife I want the wedding band closer to my heart but also because it looks a lot better. I tried wearing it the other way, but it takes away the beauty of my rings.

The engagement ring should be taken off and worn on the right hand or given to the best man to be coupled with the wedding ring prior to the ceremony. Your wedding ring should always be placed on the ring finger of your left hand first, followed by your engagement ring, as your wedding ring should be closer to your heart.

Wedding ring goes closest to her heart, never to come off. The engagement ring sometimes has to come off when doing abrasive chores, or it needs cleaning or the setting needs to be tightened.
Have a laugh over it, a kiss, and a hug, after all, there's more to marriage than THAT.

Sorry bud.... the wedding ring goes on first....then the engagement ring. My mom says the engagement ring is to "protect" the marriage and the wedding band is to be closest to your heart.
