How can you share custody once school starts?
Usually, you will get joint custodu with one parent getting "physical custody".

Remain as cooperative as possible, you will work it out.

I have the same problem. My daughters dad lives and hour away. If the child lives with you then you are the custodial parent. It depends on the age of the child. Is there a parenting plan? We do every other weekend and we rotate weeks during the summer when she is out of school. It all depends on how well the two of you get along. Good Luck

If you have joint custody, then you are both custodial parents. One of you will be the primary AKA residential parent.

You have to come up with or have ordered a custody arrangement.
