hmmm
your stomach starts digesting your internal organs after a long time

you can get real bad diarrhea
suffer from other poor health

you actually don't necessarily have poor concentration, and I'll tell you why
I got an A+ on a pre-calc test in college, and soon as I opened the door to leave out, my stomach started, NOT growling, moaning is more like it. And I knew I was hungry. But I got an A+ AND studied for that test for two days on an empty stomach so this is how I found out this was a myth, it is not true.

with real hunger, you wake up in the middle of the night because you're so hungry, you can't sleep. You may watch TV, read a book, or do something else, but you're still so hungry, you want to cry.

When you've been hungry for weeks, in the middle of the night, you may run to the refrigerator to make the pain go away and reaffirm that nothing is there, so it starts to have a psychological effect. you are depressed, and hungry. You may be so hungry that you will scarf down 4 slices of white bread, and wait in your bed until the pain slowly subsides so you can go to sleep with a smile on your face. Only to be woken up a few minutes later with growling, because you just tried to subdue several weeks of hunger with 4 slices of bread
