I'm doing a self-portrait photo project, what photos would you reccomend to reflect yourself? And how would you take these photos?

I would put the camera on a tripod and put lights around with different materials like lace to make shadows in the background. You should also have different moods in the pictures. I would also recommend having a simple chair to use like a prop.

What sets you apart in your daily ritual? I would focus in on quirks, high points and yes low points. Make this project stand out. Depending on your time frame and number of photos it will depend greatly. You ever see those videos a person has taking everyday for a year? Those are neat. However for your project, consider what you love the most people you know, hobbies, sports, etc. Capture all of that. Try to show a private and more personal side that you may not consider. The results could be amazing. If you have a flickr site I would love to see your results when your done or going through it. Please drop me an email or post your site, we could give you feedback as your going along.

Same simple suggestions; a tripod, appropriate lighting, and camera set on time delay.

However, to reflect yourself I would suggest a reflective mood pose of you and of your image reflected in a mirror (both in the same shot). Try different light intensities and poses for best results.

Set up the camera on a tripod, (I used to use my ironing board) set the timer, then sit and do whatever you do: watch TV, read, work on the computer, lift weights.
