Edmond's, like other buying guides, do not include taxes or fees because these will vary by state & county.

Sales tax will be calculated by state & county.

Licsense & Title fees vary by state
.
In Illinois you are also charged tax on the documentation fee
.
The State also will charge sales tax on any rebates supplied to you by the manufacturer. This is because rebates are money rebated or "refunded" AFTER the sale. You pay taxes on the sales price, and the rebate comes off after taxes.
Just like when you buy a computer or appliance or even just like when you use a coupon at the grocery store

Legal documentation fees also vary by state. The state of Illinois allows $57.33 per vehicle. This figure is re-established each year & signs supplied by the state are supposed to be posted in the dealership. (I think Wisconsin's doc fee is $96)

You should realize that none of the buying guides (Edmonds, Kelley Blue Book, N.A.D.A., etc.) actually sell cars. Nor do they buy cars. They just collect data & publish averages or "values".
These are not "prices". These figures are 'guidelines' . You may pay more or less than any "book" says because remember these are published AVERAGES.

Hope this clarifies for you.

It would not include all the other costs into TMV as tax title and fees are different for each state and Edmunds would not neccessaraly know where you are from. Also tax and fees are figured differently if you plan to trade in a car in many states. Also if you purchase a car out of your home state all the above is handled differently then an instate purchase.

NO, the sales tax and documentation is depending on the city, state most states even charge you the sales tax on the rebate what a rip-off. The usual documentation at a new car dealer for a new or used car runs around $150.00 to 300.00, another rip-off.
I would sugest that you call around and ask what there documentation fee is because there is some fair and honest dealers that won't charge documentation fees.

no- it will vary from state to state depending on your taxes etc so TMV is just the purchase price.

Dealer documentation fee is the fee they charge you for filing all the legal title work etc in other words for filing all the documents needed to make the sale legal
