what kind of restaurant r u looking for? there is this restaurant called the Avery's (in the Avillion Hotel, Sydney CBD) that do christmas lunch buffet for $40/head (if im not mistaken). there r salads, hot (main) dishes, xmas pudding, dessert and cheeses. thats not included drinks tho ($6.5 / house wine glass). Its not THE BEST but i have to admit its decent. i think with extra $17.5/ person (so its $40 +$17.5 = $57.5/person), u could get unlimited alcohol/drinks top up for two hours.. but i dont know whether they still do the deal. they are opening for lunch from 12noon - 3pm.

call them up on 8268 1682. good luck!

Mylos in Glebe - I think they're open for lunch. Anywhere in Glebe is pretty good. Otherwise there are lots of restaurants at Darling Harbour and King Street Wharf, or try some pubs.

Years ago, people who lived west of the Gladesville Bridge were known as 'westies' and were thought to be more bogan than those who lived east, north or south of the bridge. These days that's not the case, especially since Parramatta has become the new geographical center of Sydney. @ Sheila: I can believe west of the circular quay if you live on the eastern beaches but surely west of the pacific hwy if you're on the north shore is an exaggeration? I live on the north shore and believe it or not, not all of us are rich snobby yuppies.
