i honestly dont think if that were to happen that there would be much left of it, forget functionality. the stomach contains hydrochloric acid (HCl) which can eat through anything, even marble. the acid in the stomach may be a diluted form, but it would still pack some damage to plastic and metal. i hope this didnt actually happen, and if it did get the dog to a vet-not implying you neglect your dog, but you cant watch them 24/7 who knows what a dog would do when unsupervised.
but i really doubt a dog would eat an ipod, usually if it does not smell appealing a dog will not eat it.

blessed be

My lab ate a brand new expensive watch of mine and I refused to give up on it. I watched her potty for about 3-4 days until she pooped it out. Would you believe that the darn thing was still working? Yes, I cleaned it up really really good, replaced the band and wore it for 4 years. No problems. If you don't think a dog can eat something like an ipod then you've never owned a dog like mine! She ate EVERYTHING, but the watch was the only thing that I tried to retrieve!

Okay... Very odd question indeed... Yes! Well, it probably would not come out in the best of condition. Digestion may have partially destroyed it. Saliva or other liquids may enter the circuitry and ruin the power currents. And due to the the amount of silicon in the Ipod Nano, it may hurt the dog.

I can't believe you let your Dog eat some non-digestive substance like this. Ok ok relax!!!! First of all that Ipod wont work now due to the various liquids that are present in his stomach. So dont even think about it. Just make sure your dog is okay. Take him to the vet immediately to get an X-ray dome to see where and how can you get that out. GOOD LUCK!!!

What size dog? If a larger breed it may pass but I would be concerned about the battery as they are toxic. As far as still being functional I doubt it, the stomach is a wonderful thing and it will try to break it down for use as nutrition.

Only if the power was off when the moisture got to it. You'll have to let it dry completely after taking the battery out. If once it is dry and does not work sorry it will have to be replaced. I just can't believe it would be in one piece after the dog got to it.

Depending on the size of your dog, you might.

It could seriously hurt your dog if it's left in there...

Regardless, I think if you let it go all the way through the dog, even if it works, it will probably sound really crappy (heh,heh,heh...just a little doggie bowel humor there).

Seriously, get your hypothetical dog to the vets.

Why on earth would a dog eat an ipod? I don't think he would.

Are Ipods waterproof? How about hydrochoric acid-proof?
