Why does Allah bother to "cast terror into the hearts" of unbelievers as opposed to just killing them?

Quran 8:12 “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/008.q...

Does this make sense? Put aside its primal savagery and consider it. Why would Allah even bother to "cast terror" upon people he hated...why not just kill them!

Muslims, did it ever occur to you that people in battle are already filled with terror and rage? So Allah casts onto people what they already have!

Hmmmm.....geee...wonder whats going on here...is it that the person who made this up, wanted to try and fabricate God's flimsy pathetic participation in war?

Allah is partcipating by casting that ole "terror" into the hearts...isnt he? Well then, if he does participate, why would he participate in such a farsical way? Why not "cast" lightning bolts, after all, the Quran does paint Allah as wanting to help the war effort.

Wait one moment. Did you stop for a minute to think about the verse from the Quran and fully understand its meaning? In this verse Allah is telling all of His creation that on the day of judgment he will fill terror in the hearts of those disbelievers. The Quran is the word of God and therefore should not be disrespected the way that you disrespected it. when you talk about God the way you do, it is as if you are saying that you are greater than he is. Are you implying that God's power is both "flimsy" and "pathetic"? I think that you watch what you see on CNN and MSNBC and you think that all of the propaganda is correct. I believe that you should go to your local library or talk to a practicing Muslim to learn about the true Islam. The TRUTH not the PROPAGANDA. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Millions are converting a day, finding the truth in the pages of the Quran. "How does religion get more pathetic than Islam? Honestly." Obviously the world does not agree with you. Many of my friends are Christians and atheists and we have intellectual debates about religions and we respect eachother. some of them even converted after listening to the truth and analyzing the entire Quran. If you read the Holy book of Islam and you truly have a scientific mind you will clearly see that it is all cohesive with each other. The only religion in the world with absolutly no contradictions.

[051:018] And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (God) for forgiveness.

[051:019] And in their properties there was the right of the Sâ'il (the beggar who asked) and the Mahrûm (the poor who does not ask others).

[051:020] And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty.

[051:021] And also in your own selves. Will you not then see?

[051:022] And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised.

[051:023] Then by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak.
