does anyone know exactly or about how much alcohol is in home made hard cider if you use apple skins, and also if use baking yeast instead???

Yes we do.
First, you measure the specific gravity of the apple juice (its density). This tells you how much potential alcohol you have before it ferments.

Then you let it ferment.

Then, you measure the specific gravity again. The difference between this reading and the first reading tells you EXACTLY how much alcohol is in your cider...no matter what it's made of, no matter what yeast was used.

It depends on what kind of yeast you used, and how much sugar was available to the yeast. Yeast will keep "eating" sugar and "pooping" alcohol until it either runs out of sugar or poisons itself.

Baking yeast is a bad idea, your cider will taste like dough!

about the same as wine .maybe a little less
so 7 to 10 %
yes you can use bread yeast and over ripe whole apples is the best,just smash them first.

can you send me your recipe??? They don't have/sell cider where I live and I really like it. that might be fun to try to make. I loved Strongbow.
