My neighbors chihuahua mix keeps turning her head so far to the left that she makes herself flip over. She keeps doing it over and over. She doesnt cry when you touch her. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Could it be a ear ache?

It is most likely one of two things- an inner ear infection which will cause a head tilt and loss of balance and equilibrium. This would need to be treated with antibiotics by the vetrinarian. The other possibility is a neurological problem called vestibular disease. This is most common in older dogs and causes them to have a head tilt and loss of equilibrium. In both of these cases it is not uncommon for the eyes to tick abnormally back and forth. The dog really needs to go to the vet for treatment. There is nothing they can do at home and it will not go away on its own. I hope she feels better soon- doesnt sound like much fun.

This sounds like some sort of a nuerlogical problem.
This dog needs to be seen by the vet now.
These dogs have a high rate of seizures and other head and brain problems.
Get this dog to the vet.

she could have fleas, or is trying to bit her own tail which is a form of anxiety. i think its fleas, which accumulate around the neck so she's probably trying to gnaw at them but only succeeds in flipping over. bathe her and buy some flea drop meds from the pet store and see if it works.

it could be an ear ache, or it also could be fluid in the ear. when there fluid build-up they become dizzy and cant walk straight. it may also be fleas or ticks, i would suggest looking in her hair to see if u see anything. if u cant see anything, i suggest taking her to the vet to get her ears checked out. God Bless!!
