I have been dating this guy for a month, he calls me every week night and we go out on a date every Saturday. He even called me at work one day last week because we didn't talk one night. He seems to like me and wants to spend time with me, but last night ,while we were talking ,he told me, I like you, you like me, but don't get too absorbed in me.I had seen him Friday night, we went out and had a nice time, he asked me to stop by Sunday after visiting my parents, so I did and while and was there and we were just listening to music and talking and he told me that, what is he really telling me? Guys, help me out with this one. Then when I'm leaving ,he says he really wants to see me and do something over the week end.I'm confused!!

I can understand about your confusion. If I was you, and was told the same thing, I too would be confused. Sounds like this guy doesn't really know what he is looking for. He likes you, but doesn't really want to make a commitment for a long term relationship..By him making that statement, he feels that he has somewhat covered his actions in regards to a committed relationship with you... He is sending mixed messages to say the least. The best thing for you to do is to confront him about it.. Start by telling him how you feel about him and how much you enjoy chilling with him. If you want it to turn into something else, let him know about it. If he can't accept how you feel or turns tail and runs, then he wasn't much worth it anyway. If he really cares about you then he will understand and try to work out your concerns. The best thing is to be honest to him about your feelings. And in return you have to listen to his reasons for making such a statement.. Good luck!

I would say he might have commitment issues. He likes you but he doesn't want you to get close to him. Also maybe he likes the way things are going now and he doesn't want you to think that you should date more then you already do, maybe he just likes taking things slow.

That's strange, but guys are confusing! It seems that he is interested, because he wouldn't care about calling you or seeing you if he wasn't...I think he's just a little full of himself, maybe. Or maybe he is just having fun and doesn't want anything serious. Good luck! :)

There may be some issues that he can't get over or into, and you'll just have to take it from there. If so, you'll probably be glad later that you took his advice. It can be quite a heartbreak.

as you have been dating only a month, it could be that he had a previous relationship that was all perfect until one thing messed it up, and he probably doesnt want to get too clingy and get hurt all over again.

This is not going to be any kind of long-term relationship. He wants to keep it light. Don't expect any commitment from him.

Are you dropping all your friends to spend time with him? If not, he is acting oddly. In that case you should ask him what he means.

he's telling you not to expect too much out of him. he doesnt sound like the type to commit to one woman.
