That's not right. Does it bark at you aggressively? If so, it could not respect you. If not, did you try to comfort it or pet it when it would bark before? Is so, it could be a learned behavior. He might think you like it.

Remember dogs have a more keen sense of hearing than humans. They hear tones and volumes differently than we do, so even something that seems quiet to us can be ear piercing to them. There must be some tones to your voice different than others that he/she isn't registering the same.

My cat is similar with when I sneeze or whistle. She will wake from her nap to reprimand me with a "painful" sounding meow for being so hurtful and disturbing to her apparently.

Dogs are super sensitive to your emotions and if you are raising your voice or being loud, he probably thinks you are excited or anxious and is responding to that. Try telling him, "No bark" when he barks innapropriately. Good Luck. :)
