I don't believe one should give expecting anything in return, but if you took the time to send someone a card on all of these holidays, and they didn't at least call to say thank you, or send a thank you card in return, would it bother you? Or would you continue to do so each year expecting nothing in return? Is it wrong to at least wonder why people don't acknowlege a simple act of kindness?

Well if I didn't get a response after the first card, I would re-check the address. If I didn't get a response after the second card, I would not send a third... after so many cards, if they do not acknowledge atleast one of them, then that is very rude. Some people just have no manners or sense of etiquette, that's all.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have a few family members that I know for a fact send out Cristmas cards. For the past 2 years I have sent them cards and they did not respond and send me one. I don't know what their problem is and if I should continue to send cards and not acknowlege their idioticness or if I should return the favor and not send them cards anymore.

good question but it all depends how you sent your message. nowadays with a click of a button..you can send 100 e-mails and more...wishing all your buddies and non-buddies or no-body's happy holidays....i would not be surprised..if you get low returns...if you did it via post mail...that is a different story....
to sum up...continue...what you are doing best...if it makes you feel happy...as for RSVP yes or no ...it really does not matter any more on e-mail because of the reasons already outlined above..hope it does help.

That would be the last ones I would send. They obviously don't care how you feel.

I think they might be embarrassed that they didn't send you one so they hope that by not mentioning it that you might not have noticed
