It sounds like a bunch of preadolescent boys being, well, preadolescent boys.
They COULD be doing it because you're unattractive...or they could be doing it because you're very attractive and they need a bet to work up their courage. They could also be betting them to do it because it's silly.
Frankly, I'd go with the last one and not think too much about it.
