i'm not sure what chex mix is but you could use some soy sauce, maybe a dash of chilli. If it's the dark colour you want go for soy, if it's for flavour, some extra seasoning with salt and black pepper should suffice.

soy sauce & lime juice (more soy than lime) -- I use a product called "Original Allegro Marinade" for steaks and filets -- it is made from soy sauce, lime juice and herbs, spices and some garlic (this stuff is the best!) and it should work great for the chex mix

most of teh time no but if u dont like wishtashere sauce u can use something else that is really liquidy.
