Okay... there is this girl who I like a lot. today on aim, she says that her boyfriend broke up with her. Than you know i comforted her a bit, made her laugh, forget about the subject. And when she said bye, she added xox. Its the first time she did that and we have been talking for a very long time. Does that mean she likes me or is she just saying that?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions.. I think she is hurt right now.. and she is rebounding.. and is flattered to have such a sweet guy paying attention to her.. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.. Just keep being friends with her see where that goes..

It sounds like she likes you by telling you that her boyfriend broke up her she could have told a female friend but choose you a guy and the only reason a girl ever tells a guy is if she likes him and is hinting that she may like to go out with him so she comes across as shy also and may want you to ask her out, but because she is on the rebound she may be saying that so ask her out but don't expect huge results.

She's probably saying a couple of things with that little xox. First of all, she's grateful to you for cheering her up. Second of all, that's a cute little way of letting you know that she may be interested in being more than friends with you.
