Binge eating is so difficult to deal with - I know, because I binge, too! Depression, I think, is a big factor in binge eating - and there isn't anything wrong with a little help, if you need it. I appreciate how you feel about medications, but the right anti-depressant can make all the difference.

What is it, do you think, that you're trying to fill - or bury - with food? That's really what we're doing when we binge eat, you know - trying to "fix" something. Of course, as you well know, binge eating fixes NOTHING, and just creates more guilt, more depression, etc.

Try Overeaters Anonymous - www.oa.org - you can even "attend" on-line meetings if you can't find one in your area or if you just don't want to attend a "live" meeting.

Good luck - you can do this!!

Sometimes binge eating is a symptom of hypoglycemia. When your blood sugar gets low you overeat to compensate for it, and this complicates the problem, because overeating causes the sugar first to spike and then afterward to plummet, thus compounding the problem.

A good diet for hypoglycemics includes lots of dairy and protein foods. Dairy and protein foods also make you feel more filled and satisfied.

Pauses during eating help you feel more full. Perhaps you want four large homemade chocolate chip cookies. Instead, take 2, and break each one in half so it feels like eating four. Engage in other activities (such as computer games) while you eat, and pause often between bites. Drink milk or coffee with your snack, and you won't feel the need to overindulge as much. Also, don't let yourself get overly hungry in the first place.

Some have suggested eating a breath mint when you feel like eating too much. The minty feel in your mouth will keep you from wanting to taste anything else for a while.

If you are hypoglycemic or simply want to try the diet of one and see what happens, cut all your meals in half, then eat more often. Some doctors say 5 times a day, some say 6. Do what works for you, and always have a little something before you go to bed at night.

i think its by the kind of food not the amount of it
for example there is kinds of food that make the person gain weight easily
just try to stop that and eat when u r hungry only
and stop eating when u feel its sufficient
try to eat only one kind of food because many times same times will make u want to eat this and this

first step. Instead of binge eating, drink water. And try to do something that relaxes you instead of eat. Eat only when you're suppose to, breakfast, lunch and dinner. if this doesn't work, you should probably see a psychiatrist

It's important to know that over-exercising is almost as bad for you as not exercising at all. There have been cases of what is now called 'exercise-based anorexia', where women as young as 24 have developed conditions like osteoporosis from over-exercising.
