Where have you been for the last, oh, 30 years? And how is the exact percentage supposed to be known if they are 'undocumented'? This is a trick question, right? You can't be so naive or uninvolved not to know about this issue.

'undocumented worker' is mealy-mouthed PC-speak for 'illegal alien', meaning people that've illegally gained entry to the country, and have been given a pass for it for a long time because some companies have been profiting by the whole deal.
Law enforcement's my answer on this one, stop rewarding people for breaking the law, or making excuses for them.
The primary offender on illegal immigration has been and wil likely remain Mexico, and until/unless they decide, as a country, to fix some of their problems, then the practice will continue. But: as a voter, you have the opportunity to oppose continued tolerance of illegal immigration. Whether or not you choose to is up to you...say 'no' to communism, say 'no' to subversion of our border and immigration laws, say 'no' to illegal immigration...

im a social worker in los angeles county. if you spent a day in my shoes, you would know.
80% of our calls out to homes for domestic violence/child abuse/child neglect/drug use/prenatal drug exposure were with.....drumroll please...........ILLEGALS! we had to not only go out on these calls but bring translators with us! then we had to get them help (legal/financial/counseling etc) knowing they were illegal but not being able to do anything about it b/c of confidentiality.
sorry but after the 100th call in one month for a meth dealing/using ILLEGAL alien mother with 6 children in foster care and one just born, i get tired of people asking about how big of a problem illegals are. ITS HUGE!!!
true my grandparents came here from another country and i know there are immigrants coming from other countries all the time. but if your gonna come over here, get your f-----g s--t together. dont come over here beating your wife, doing drugs, and letting your kids run amok. and for god's sake, learn the language! try and contribute something or else you are nothing but an ILLEGAL

They are undocumented so it is hard to tell. Estimates run from 12 million to 20 million. Read the following and understand that since many are paid in cash it is hard to document how many illegal aliens are out there, and by the way, undocumented workers is nice word made up to sound better that illegal alien which is what they are. From the L.A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people)
are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are
predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien
Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers
are Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles
are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English.
3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County).
(All the above data from the Los Angeles Times)
******
Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops,
but 29% are on welfare.
Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth
(and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York )
results from immigration.
The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was,
(after subtracting taxes immigrants pay), a NET $70 BILLION/
year, [Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University ]. The lifetime
fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average
adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE number.
29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
If they can come to this country to raise Hell and demonstrate by
the thousands, WHY can't they take charge over the corruption
in their own country?
We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue.

You haven't been to So. California have you, and have word "workers" grossly mistaken for welfare recipients.
