The best topics are controversial ones that you are really interested in. Then your speech will be more interesting and sound more sincere.

So, what do you feel strongly about? Capital punishment? Use of marijuana for medical purposes? Gun control? School uniforms? Banning peanut butter in schools? Testing cosmetics on animals? Right to life? Right to die? Should young kids be involved in competitive sports? Prayer in schools?

Also, this question has been asked quite a few times here on Yahoo Answers, so do a search for "persuasive speech topics" and you should find quite a few suggestions. These links should help.

The best thing to do is to write or talk about something you are passionate about. Remember that persuasive speeches need to convince someone about something. You could be pro or against abortion, drinking, or something like that.

Pick something current, like the War on Terrorism or the War in Iraq. Choose a side, and back it up.

Everybody has an opinion on this. and interest will be high.

recycling, safe sex, wearing seat belts, exercising, the list is endless. try something convincing or something you are passionate about, you will do best if it is something close to your heart. good luck and remeber not to get too nervous when presenting the speech. blessed be.
