Running gives you nice muscle tone mostly in your legs. Running increases metabolism so you can lose alot of weight by running. Running keeps excess weight off. If your trying to lose weight by running you might want to maybe run a mile or 2 a day 3 days out the week.

I run alot . The first I started seriously running it built my thigh and calve muscles mostly . When I started running regularly uphill , I noticed it also built my hamstrings and glutes . I'm 6'-4" and I weigh around 212 lbs and keep it down by running , but my diet isnt ideal which is something else that needs alot of attention . Concentrate on protiens and complex carbohydrates from vegetables and you'll lose weight at a good rate .
