I think it's great you're taking responsibility and forming a plan to get up on time. Being late sucks.

Try laying out your clothes and packing your bag the night before. Doesn't help getting up earlier, but makes the rush not so bad.

Try washing your hair at night, so in the morning if you're really late, it's ponytail city!

Do try going to bed earlier. It seems like a miracle, but it really will help you get up on time.

Good luck. It sounds like you're on the right track.

P.S. Be sure NOT to take early classes in college. You will definitely flunk them. I know this first hand. :)

Going to bed earlier always helps....

But for the way to "reset" your internal clock, you have to do it this way....

Like a good watch, we cannot move our internal clocks backwards, only forwards. So Friday night, stay up all night, AND all day Saturday. Go to bed an hour or two earlier Saturday night and Wake up an hour earlier on Sunday morning. Your clock will be reset and you will find it easier to wake up an hour earlier each morning.

It works, back in my younger days I had to do various shifts. I was taught that by a co-worker, and it was the difference between being highly productive and sleeping all through the shift.

Get a new alarm clock....your brain has adjusted to not hearing the one you have....for a period...set them both...and then maybe switch between 2 or 3....And when you do hear it....DON'T use the snooze button....this is the feature that causes people's brains to turn off what they are hearing....get up the first time!....Also, you know your mom is ultimately going to rescue you...tell her to not wake you no matter what....and take the consequenses. Ultimately you will learn you have to hear and can not rely on someone else.

Move the alarm clock away from the bed so that you have to get up to turn it off. Maybe get a second alarm clock that goes off 5-10 minutes later so you've got alarms going off all the time. If you know your mom is going to turn it off for you, you won't, have her stop turning it off.

Go to be earlier. This is easiest to do if you get up earlier, even though its painful. you will naturally fall asleep earlier that way,and getting up earlier will be easier each day.

Eat healthy, exercise (not getting enough exercise makes it impossible for your body to sleep well at night, and for you to wake up rested).

Make yourself wake up, just because you're tried doesnt mean you will be in a few minutes after you have been awake a little bit. That groggy feeling will wear off.

I am an adult and have issues getting up out of bed on time myself. I have a friend call me in the mornings and keep talking to me till I get out of bed and moving. It has helped me since my son has started going to school and my husband is understanding.
