It's a good idea. This idea has been around a long time. Jesus Christ Himself taught that those who want to point out a mote in their brother's eye should first cast the beam out of their own eyes.

Believe me, I judge myself pretty harshly everyday. I'm very hard on myself to do better and better. Often I fail, but sometimes, every once in a while, I succeed. Anyway, hope that helps.

I'm reminded of the phrase, "Judge not, lest ye be judged."
It's a good reminder. Many of us tend to judge others without knowing details. Myself included.
