and just to tell you people who are wondering, im pretty sure i put this in the chem category but for some reason it's in religion. And this isn't homework, just interested. google, yahooo, and wiki were no good.

Elements are made up of atoms of the same kind.

Molecules are aggregates of one or more atoms forming a definite structure. Molecules are the smallest particle of a pure substance made up of chemically-bonded atoms.

A chemical compound is a substance that is made up of chemically bonded elements of a fixed ratio that determines the composition (like H2O for example).

A mixture is a simple mix of different compounds that do not become chemically bonded together, and each compound retains its own unique properties within the mixture.

A solution is mostly attained when mixing a solid with a liquid, for example salt in water, but it's applicable to any solute dissolved in a solvent.

An element is one or more of only one type of atom. An atom is the smallest part of an element. A molecule is a collection of at least 2 or more atoms joined together. H2 is an element but also a molecule since it contains 2 atoms of hydrogen. Think of a bag of frozen peas. Peas being the element and an individual pea being the atom...

atoms = elements

atoms of differing kinds (or even the same kind like O2) bonded together (covalent bond)= molecule

bunch of molecules of the same type = a compound(ex H2O is a compound)

solution is usually an ionic compound (solute) dissolved in a solvent

mixtures are a bunch of compounds mixed together

Consider when the time comes when we can manipulate the structure of atoms, to create new mixtures of elements, such as removing three electrons from lead and you get Gold.

All matter is made up of atoms. In different atomic combinations, matter can sometimes react with other matter made up of other atomic structures.

That's called chemistry.

But that IS what they're made of. I'm not sure what you're going for here. Maybe a little more explanation would be helpful.

Why don't you ask this in the chemistry forum instead? Or homework help?
