before it is long enough to wax? I want this over as quick as possible and I hate the thought of not shaving my underarms for more than a few days!
And no silly responses pls :-)

OK, I do waxmy underarms and the first time was awful letting them grow, but stick at it and it feels loads better. The hairs need to be between 2-3mm long to really work, and I would recommend it done at a salon rather than doing it yourself. I have tried this, and couldn't seem to get the angle right. Salon is much better! Try not to shave in between waxes as well, as it makes the hairs grow in different directions and is harder to wax. If you stick with it, and keep having them waxed every couple of weeks or so, the hair is much finer, less dense and you'll hardly notice it. No more shadows from shaving, and it'll take longer for the hairs to grow back as they have been weakened by the waxing!

You would prabaly have to grow it for a couple of weeks. I know that seems like a really long time, but it is so worth it. Eventually, the hair comes back softer and doesn't grow as fast. And given enough time, with continued waxing, the hair stops coming back altogether. I have my underarms, legs, bikini, and eyebrows done. I only have a few patches of really soft, fine hair left on my legs, and my under arms only need to be waxed every 4 -6 weeks now.
I started my 13 year old daughter on leg waxing before she even started shaving. There is a good possibility that by the time she is 19 or 20, she may never have to wax her legs again.

I have been waxing my underarms for about 8 years and LOVE IT. You will be thrilled with the results and never look at a razor again! :) To get a really nice wax the first time, it is best to let it grow out as long as you can. You have to remember there are growth cycles to the hair follicles.

I now wax about every 4 weeks, and sometimes there isn't much for the wax to adhere to.

It needs to be about 1/4 inch before you can wax it. On me, that's a little over a week after a shave. It might be different for you.

I'd give it 2 weeks depending on how well the waxing job is done. If you see little hairs, you might want to freshen up with a shave or two.

its usually around 4 mm depending on how coarse the hair is if you do it at home it needs to be a little longer personally i would wait another few days for an appointment and get it done in a salon as its less painful whatever you do make sure they use talc before they wax you it will be less painful and take an ibuofren 30 mins before you go this helps with swelling and pain

The same as your legs , under arm hair(at least for myself) grows at around the same rate as my leg hairs.
However my hair doesnt grow at all quick so i have to wait almost 2 months before waxing just for my hair to be around 5mm long.

for most I think its 3 maybe 4 days after shaving.

you dont need to wait too long to get them waxed, maybe a couple of days well it actually depends on how fast your hair grows, but your best thing to do is to ask at the salon you will will wax them at, or if you are doing it yourself then you should just try it on different times and see when is the best time for you to wax

I only shave my underarms if I'm going to wear something where people can see my underarms or if I'm going on a date. Otherwise I refuse point blank! Anyway, in response to your question, wax when they get to about 3mm.
