Try a paint store in rural Scotland, which is a tiny island right off the coast of Japan, where all the natives speak Klingon and drink maple syrup!

...If this isn't a bad joke...

Tartan isn't a color, it's a pattern. It's like asking for "striped paint" or "polka-dot paint".

Asking for tartan paint (or a left-handed wrench) is a kind of hazing that construction workers do to each other. The hapless young newbie looks in vain while everybody laughs at them.

Hello again Angel.
I went to a hotel where they called all of their bedrooms by the colour they were painted,
I asked for a tartan room and the hotelier looked at me in disgust and said "I'm sorry Sir but we only supply the room".

Think about it, how many colours are there in tartan, how could you get them all in one tin.

its like being sent to get a long stand... thats what you get from the person behind the counter
