Yes, and a sign of weakness.

It's kinda immature. I mean, eventually you are going to have to talk to the guy at some point, so you might as well start the relationship yourself. It is very embarassing and scary to just ask a guy out, and it's ideal if he asks YOU out instead, but consider an opportunity to show character and courage, and learn a valuable lesson.
You can ask your friend to "feel out" the situation for you and see what his answer *might* be. Or she could start the conversation between you and engineer it in your favor. "So, John, what's your favorite movie out right now? Gee, Susie really wants to see that movie too, don't you Susie? Gee, maybe you two should go see it together!" (very obvious example, but you get my point).

of course its too impersonal --- if you want to go out and talk to the guy the least you can do is do it in person

It's more immature than impersonal...and what if he's not impressed that it didn't mean enough for you to do it, but admires her for her courage? He may ask her out instead...

It depends i think. If you don't know him well but your friend does than I would ask your friend. He may think it is cool that your friend likes you enuf to recommend you to him. If you do talk to him or know him a bit i think something more casual is better like..i really want to see or do such and such. Would you like to come. If he can't go but is interested he'll probably suggest a different time.

yes! the guy will appreciate it much much more if you work up the nerve to do it yourself. if a guy asked you out through one of his friends, admit it, wouldn't you find it a bit lame? just work up the courage to ask him. better to try and fail than to have missed an opportunity.

It is a huge turn-off. I would never accept such an offer.. unless her friend looks like Angelina Jolie..

homegurl... DONT DO THIS TO YOURSELF!
be confident, guys love it.
have a confident walk, look confident & act confident.

girl you will just embrarsesses yourself. i have plenty guy freinds.. and each of them are pretty hot. i wont believe how many of them tell me how that dislike it when a girl loses confidents i.e. telling a freind of her's to pass the message onto him. boys love to fear from girls, even the one ones. it makes them feel nice, wanted even. a guy will appreciate you asking him out personally. telling your freind to ask the boy out for you is soooo elementary and soo not cool, you will loose your appeal to him even if your "hot".... just please ask him yourself!
