Earlier today, when I tried to connect to internet, SpySweeper quarinted something trying to install and caused the computer to freeze then restart be itself. Now when I try to turn the computer on, it loads windows half way and then restarts itself and repeats. I can only log into safe mode.

I scanned with SpySweeper and Spybot and got nothing. When I tried to scan with AVG it got to like 1k files and like stopped there. I turned if off after 80 minutes.

What should I do? My dad wont let me reformat it for some unknown reason.

Start up safe mode, and use System Restore to back up your computer a few days. This should solve the problem.

All these programs. Spybot, SpySweeper crap does all this ****.
Sorry for my language but it does.

Go to Safe mode and delete everything from Add/Remove Software.
Even the AVG antivrus.....

Restart it and run Scandisk and Defrag
then download Mcafee from www.limewire.com GOOD LUCK

Boot into safe mode and do a scan. Start computer and press F8 as soon as you seen the manufacture logo, then choose safe mode and then run avg and spybot in safe mode.

Hi. Your dad just wants to see where you've been. If you have the install CD then try booting with that in the drive. If it works then do your scans. You may want to try a 'System Restore'. The boot sequence may also ask if you want to 'boot from last known good configuration'. Just things to try. Good luck!
