be happy for your child

If they are a teenager, they could just be experimenting and starting to develop an identity. Don't worry too much if your child is straying away from his/her base religion. If it concerns you too much, talk to him/her. Find out what that religion means to them. There's nothing wrong with being a muslim. My family is Muslim. I have a big family. they are peaceful and don't go around blowing people up:) K? So relax. it's all good. You know your kid more than anybody so you will know whether it's a good or bad decision. Either way just let them be.

I am a Muslim and I think that if my child deciedes to be one then that is their choice. There is nothing wring with studying Islam. Ever since Sept 11 people have this sick twisted idea about what Islam is and that terrorists are prominent but none of that is true. What ever my child decides to do is his/her own choice. I wouldn't judge.

I would let them. If they have made an informed decision, after exploring the religion, and if they feel that it is a good lifestyle to follow, then I wish them all luck. That does not mean that I would convert from Hindu to Muslim, all I'm saying, is they have the right to choose once they are old enough to make sensible choices, and we should allow them to use this right.

Why is this question getting thumbs down? She hasn't stated that she's insulting muslims! To many people on Yahoo Answers hang people before they read the oath metaphorically speaking.

My answer is, if my child is healthy and happy too, I have been a successful father.

Maybe you should ask him/her why they decided to convert. You may actually learn something.... Of course thats for the openminded ppl. Not the ones that think they know everything about Islam from what they see on Tv. Or dare I say what they THOUGHT happened on 9/11.

if my son chose to become muslim after i explained to him what it was about and expressed my concerns, and still wanted to ruin his life this way, i would kick him out of the house and disown him. this is not something i would accept, under any circumstances. there are enough muslims in the world causing trouble, we dont need anymore. i do not want someone who follows a book of terrorism and hatred living in my house or associated with me. PERIOD!

Don't worry, continue to love him/her, and go about your business. I know a lot of Muslims, work with them, and have them for students. The ones I know are all great people and good friends.

Be exceedingly surprised. My son is about as smart as I am, and people with that IQ level do not become Muslims.

I thought if u r a true U.S. Citizen, you give your kids the freedom to choose, or was that 50 years ago, not anymore. What if he denounces GOD at all, what r you gonna do, have BUSH get approval from neocons, and include him in " axis of evil"?

While in my home they wouldn't be. If it meant to be, it will be there once they are on there own.

How ever as an adult that would be up to them. I will not judge their faith as they wouldn't mine as I have raised my children. I have read the Quran and the main concepts of family similar to my faith so there is no conflict.
