The books that tell of Jesus's childhood were not included in the Bible. Many don't believe that they were real. If you do some research you can find copies of them, they are in print. Hope this helps.

Chapters 1 & 2 of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke speak to his earliest parts of being an infant. As the family fled to Egypt when he was possibly 6 month to 2 yrs old we really don't have much of an account of his life until we see him at about age 12 near then end of Chap 2 of Luke. It was and still is the Jewish custom to present the child just as he becomes a man (age 12 or 13, means he has reached an age of accountability and manhood) to the priest or rabbi and have the child blessed. Our Jewish friends call this "bar mitzvah".
That is about it when in the Gospels when it comes to account of his childhood.
Hope that helps. Read the first couple chapters of Matthew and Luke.

The first couple chapters of Matthew and Luke talk about Jesus' birth. Very little is known of His youth, besides the one story about Him staying behind in Jerusalem in the Temple and Mary and Joseph frantically going back to find Him. The Gnostic Gospels (i.e. Gospel of Thomas) gives details on his youth, but these aren't reliable. For example, the G. of Mark was written by Mark, the G. of Thomas was written by a group of people who believed in several gods--one of the OT, one of the NT, and lots of others--lots of years later.

Try one of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke) John doesn't go into details of that nature.
Luke talks about His conception, birth and very little else is written about His childhood and youth.

The bible doesn't say much about it, but we do have traditions from that time. Look up the writings of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

They're not in the Bible, because the Early Church wanted only to focus on when he taught, i.e., his three years of ministry before he died. It's quite simple, really.

we know conception and birth and then the presentation at the temple.... then skip ahead to about 12 years old when He was "lost" and His parents found Him "going about my Fathers work". then.... straight on forward to adult hood.
